Much of Buffalo's housing is older, including many two-family "doubles" with stairs to the upper unit and basement laundry. County and city support
The Erie County Department of Aging offers in-home services, meals, caregiver support and transportation for older residents. NY Connects is a free first call for long-term services, and Erie County DSS handles Medicaid applications. For dementia support, contact the Alzheimer's Association WNY Chapter.
